Communicating with Your Attendees

You can easily send emails to your event attendees directly through Simpli Events.

Email Attendees

  • You have the option to email all attendees at once, or you can select specific attendees to send a more targeted message.

Scheduled Emails

  • You can schedule an email reminder to your attendees with options for how soon before your event start date.

  • This feature is only available for events that are not sessions.

  • This feature is found on the Marketing Page.

When creating a scheduled email, you can specify exactly when it will be sent, in days or hours before your event's start time. You can edit any scheduled email before it is sent by clicking the edit icon.

You can also edit a scheduled email before it is sent by clicking on the edit icon for that email.

Statuses

Scheduled emails have three possible statuses:

  • Scheduled: The email is set to be sent at a future date.

  • Sent: The email has been successfully delivered.

  • Skipped: (Explained below)

Changing the Event Date with Scheduled Emails

If you change your event's date, any scheduled emails will automatically adjust to the new timeline. For instance, an email scheduled for one day before the event will still be sent one day before the new event date. However, if the new event date moves a scheduled email into the past (i.e., the send time has already passed), the email will be skipped and will not be sent.

Writing the Email

Here are a few ways to customize your emails.

Filtering Emails

You have the option to send emails only to specific ticket holders, or to specific sessions as well. When writing the email to send, at the top are the select options to choose a ticket or session to send to.

To send emails to a specific group, use the filter options at the top of the email composer. You can target messages to specific tickets or attendees of a particular session.

Email Variables

Personalize your emails and subject lines by including variables. Just click the button for the variable you want to use while writing your message. Available variables include:

  • Event Name

  • Attendee Name

  • Attendee First Name

Simply click the button of the variable while writing the email to include them.

Sending a Test Email

After writing your email, you can send a test email to yourself to see the what the email will look like before sending. At the top right is the Send Test Email button. Click that and it will allow you to send it.

Before you send an email, you can preview it by sending a test version to yourself.

The variables in the test email will be populated with your own name by default, which you can customize to see how they would appear to an attendee.

You can also include more Email Recipients to send your test email by adding an email and separate them by a comma.
