Connecting to Stripe

Learn how to create a stripe account to process paid tickets

Updated over 4 months ago

To start accepting payments, you'll need to connect your Simpli Events account to Stripe.

Read more about what Stripe is here: What is Stripe.

Watch our video guide or read the guide below.

Setting Up Stripe

  • Go to your Stripe settings by clicking here. You can find this page by clicking your name on the top-right corner of the page, then clicking "Settings", then picking "Stripe" from the menu.

  • Click the Purple Start Verification Process button to begin the setup process. You will be automatically redirected to Stripe's website to create a Stripe account and to connect it to Simpli Events.

    • Note that if you have popups blocked you wont be automatically taken to the Stripe website. Instead use the link that appears after you click the button.

Setup On Stripe

  • Now that you're on Stripe, you'll have to complete their form to setup. Most of it is straightforward, but we'll explain some of the possible little hiccups here.

Email

  • If you already have an existing Stripe account, using the existing email should auto sign in to that account.

    • If you do connect to an existing Stripe account, you'll need to create a new business on that account. This is a requirement by Stripe. And it's for the best so all transactions are Simpli Events related.

  • Note: You do not need to use the same email that you use on Simpli Events

Two-step authentication

  • Stripe recommends using the Google Authenticator app that you can download from the app store on your phone. But we here at Simpli Events find it easier just to verify by clicking Your Phone button to verify via text.

    • Company

      • You will be asked to provide your business's registration number, legal business name, and other business details.

      • There are two types of Companies:

        • Corporation

        • Partnership

    • Non-profits

      • If you are a registered non-profit organization or charity. Only select if you are incorporated as a business. Otherwise select the Individual account.
